BRINGING IDEAS TO LIFE

Zytek has been designing, developing, and converting prototype race car concepts since the mid-1990s from our two dedicated vehicle workshop facilities.

From an electric single-seater race car concept with individual wheel motors (developed 20 years before the first season of Formula E) to the very latest generation of pure electric sports cars, the level of concept creation experience that Zytek can offer is one of the highest in the industry.

In addition to component engineering and integration, Zytek also performs concept to production concept motorsport electric vehicle conversion programmes, including the creation of novel, new powertrain, chassis, and interior concepts.

Powertrain Concepts

Using our team of vehicle engineers, electric or hybrid powertrains can be installed in vehicles giving customers the experience of driving new EV concepts in the shortest possible time.

These concept powertrains can be fitted to directly drive individual wheels or be integrated into transmission systems or onto engines.

Chassis and Interior Concepts

A range of chassis and interior systems that can also be incorporated could make the difference between a Zytek-engineered vehicle and those from competitors, as we have access to the very latest technology:-

Chassis systems

  • Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
  • Electronic Stability Programme (ESP)
  • Advanced Driver – Assistance Systems (ADAS)

Interior

  • Digital cockpits
  • Body control systems
  • Tyre pressure monitoring
  • Connectivity solutions

In-House Design & Build

The wide variety of skills needed are all found in-house at Zytek:

  • Mechanical vehicle packaging using the latest CAD tools.
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and thermal analysis.
  • Design and manufacture of electrical systems, both low and high voltage.
  • Communications integration, using the experience of Controller Area Network (CAN), Local Interconnect Network (LIN), Flexray, and Ethernet.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Concept cars are vehicles that have been designed for presentation purposes only, usually in order to show off new design ideas. They may be built on existing platforms but will not necessarily follow any particular production plan.

Zytek specialise in the creation of race car and electric vehicle concepts, which can include both design and development.

From the E-V concept of a single-seater sports car with individual wheel motors (developed over 20 years before the first season of Formula E) to the very latest generation of pure electric sports cars and a Le Mans Prototype chassis.

We have a rich history of creating high-performance design concepts, see Our History.

No, but we work closely with carefully selected partners who work to our rigorous standards, to manufacture you a body shell that meets your requirements and specification.

Yes, using our fully equipped workshop facilities our highly experienced team will fully build your concept.
